Old classmate Su Chee came home from the States with her family for a short summer break and we managed to call for a small “Chinese tea party” last minute at Donny’s.
We had a good catch-up, drank lots of “gongfucha” (to a layman like me “gongfucha ceremony” means brewing of tea in cute little tea pots with a lot of little gadgets involved and at the end we get to taste little cups of tea brewed from tea leaves that come in different form, colours and tastes, from different years/eras and with different price tags) and had an absolutely wonderful time!
Apart from the excitement (every single time!) of getting to taste different types of tea and being given a crash course on the origin, names and characteristics of different types tea etc, I have always been amazed by Donny’s huge collection of little tea pots and jars and jars of tea leaves. So this time I decided to take some pictures and before the first little cup of tea had warmed me up I was all over the house snapping away including doing stunts like standing on a bench to take shots of some of the amazingly cute tea pots placed on the highest shelf of one of his many cabinets.
Let me dazzle you with some of Donny’s collection:
And of course I must also include a few pictures of us…
what a beautiful collection

Beautiful, aren’t they? These are only part of my friend Donny’s collection.
My favourites are the frog series.
