When it comes to entertaining, I make the effort to add the finishing touches like putting out the napkin rings and wine glass markers. Here are a few of my very simple creations…
napkin rings
The followings are my favourite napkin rings so far upcycled from wooden curtain rings wrapped with satin piping/bias tape which I blogged about some time ago…

I gave these to a my friend May who likes butterflies as Chinese New year present with butterflies bought from the shop

when Rebecca in Australia saw the butterfly napkin rings I made for May, she asked me to make some for her
The butterflies and dragonflies can be handmade by using wire, coloured tights and beads but since the ready-made ones were not very expensive so I just went for them.
wine glass markers
I saw a lot of very interesting and beautiful wine glass charms on the internet but I decided not to make something that are exactly like them but ones that are way simpler, not cumbersome or making too much noise or movement when you are enjoying your glass of vino 🙂

what do you do with cheap leftover beads?
string them together on clear elastic cord and you have your instant wine glass markers
They are great conversation pieces at my dinner parties…..
