First day of Chinese New Year, I took the morning easy….

Went over to mum and dad’s to 拜年 (simply translated as visiting/new year’s visit) and enjoyed a nice vegetarian breakfast with them. Then I wondered into dad’s orchid garden, bathed in the morning sun, smelled the intoxicating fragrance from a particular flowering orchid, and was surprised and delighted to see a little visitor…
