I went around hunting for bougainvillea (九重葛、紙花、簕杜鹃) some time last year and I thought I had accomplished what I set out to do, i.e. to look for the different colours and species that are widely planted locally and from single bracts to the lovely multiple ones. But the other day I spotted a variety that I had never seen before — miniature bougainvillea with flowers in clusters at the tip of the branches and with very prominent white flowers. So as usual, I halted, whipped out my phone and started snapping.
