Last year when I tripped over a small speed bump on my life journey, I discovered the essence of true friendship.

The life lesson I have learnt:

• the friends who dropped what they were doing and came over to my place almost immediately upon hearing the trip to be with me and ensure I was ok
• the friend who said, “I just happened to have bought some nice snacks. Please come over for tea this afternoon,” and then gave me the time and patience to hear my story

• the friends who remembered me in their prayers
